INFORMATION FOR FIRST TIME CUSTOMERS
Placing Orders
We have attempted to make the placing of orders as easy as possible, but it you have difficulty with any of the steps involved check these help pages, or email us for help:
- Locate an item to purchase using our search or browse facilities.
- Click on the "Add to cart" button.
- Add more titles as desired.
- When you are ready to place your order, click on the "Secure Checkout" link (top left of page).
- Sign In to your customer account, or create a new customer account if you don't already have one.
- Fill in the delivery address details for the order.
- Fill in payment details (we accept payment by Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Diners).
- Done!
Once your order is placed, you will receive an order confirmation. Please check this confirmation carefully and inform us of any mistakes as soon as possible. If you wish to cancel an order, you must inform us before 9.00am the next business day .
The Paperplus Books website does not hold any stock on hand - all ordered items are provided by suppliers on demand. The stated availability of an item takes into account the time taken to receive the item from the supplier. From time to time, suppliers are unable to fulfill your order. Should this occur, we will inform you as soon as possible.
Dispatching Orders
Once ordered items are received from suppliers and your order is ready to dispatch, we will process the purchase on your credit card, then pack and dispatch your order.
All NZ deliveries are shipped by overnight courier and should be received the next business day. All courier deliveries will require a signature for delivery. Some addresses and rural deliveries may take longer. You can track your package by clicking on the "Track An Order" link at the top of the page.
All international orders are sent by Airmail. Refer to our shipping and delivery help pages for more information on international orders.

ADDING ITEMS TO YOUR CART
If you want to purchase an item you need to add that item to your cart before going through the secure check out process.
To add an item to your cart:
- Locate the item by using our search or browse facilities
- Click to view the item's details
- Click on the "Add to cart" button
If you experience difficulties, ensure that your web browser will accept cookies - our website makes extensive use of cookies. Check your browser documentation for more information.

REMOVING ITEMS FROM YOUR CART
If you want to remove an item that you have placed in your cart:
- Ensure you are in your cart - click on the "View Cart" link (top left of page)
- Locate the item you want to remove from the cart
- Click on the "REMOVE" link at the end of the item's row
The item will be removed from the cart, and the cart value will be automatically recalculated.

UPDATING ORDER QUANTITIES IN YOUR CART
By default, the quantity of an item added to a cart is 1 - to purchase multiple copies of any item already in your cart:
- Ensure you are in your cart - click on the "View Cart" link (top left of page)
- Locate the item whose quantity you want to modify
- Change the value in the QTY column to reflect the number of copies you require for that item.
- Click on the "Recalculate quantities" button.
The cart will recalculate the quantities and cart value to reflect your changes. Setting the quantity to "0" will remove the item from your cart.
You can change the quantities up and down, as required - the cart will automatically adjust to reflect any changes.

DELIVERY COSTS
Calculation of delivery costs will occur when you proceed through the secure checkout. Delivery costs are dependent on where the order is to be delivered, which you need to provide during the checkout process. All books are delivered freight-free within New Zealand. Shipping costs for orders delivered outside New Zealand can be viewed here.

FLY BUYS (NZ CARDS ONLY)
Holders of N.Z. Fly Buys cards can earn points on purchases made at this website. If you are a N.Z. Fly Buys card holder, make sure that you provide your card number when creating your customer account, or update your customer account to add you Fly Buys card number. You can also provide you card number when going through the secure checkout.
Please note: ordered goods are charged for when they are ready to dispatch - any Fly Buys points will be issued at that time. Please allow up to 2 weeks for Fly Buys points to be processed.

"HOW CAN I VIEW AN OLD ORDER?"
You can view your order history, and the status of current orders, by clicking on the "Track An Order" link at the top of this web page. You will be redirected to sign in if you are not already. Once signed in, a list of all your current and previous orders will be listed. Click on an order to see the individual order details.

"ARE ALL THE BOOKS FEATURED ON THIS WEBSITE AVAILABLE AT PAPERPLUS BOOKS STORES?"
While books featured on this website may be available in Paperplus Books stores, it many cases they will not - there are over 800,000 books available on our website, and we would need over 8 kms of shelves just to fit one copy of each title.
If you would prefer to purchase a title instore, please call before hand to check its availablility. A list of store locations and contact details is available here.
